HERITAGE VILLAGE SCHOOL HOUSE

Officially Opened – Sept. 15, 2024

The purpose of the Cowichan Valley Schools Heritage Society (CVSHS) is to: actively collect and preserve historical documents, photos, and artifacts related to C.V. & district schools, and to have an educational program that shares activities and history of past school days in this school house.

We welcome you to attend our CVSHS meetings. We often meet at the School House at
Blackstaff’s place, 10825 Edgelow Road, Ladysmith where we have a short meeting, then
organize text books and artifacts placing them on the correct shelves or in the glass cabinets.

If you are interested in assisting us with assembling our new PACRIM wooden building kit for an accessible washroom, please let us know.
In 2026, we plan to offer educational field trips at the school house site. If you’d enjoy teaching or supervising our various educational programs we’d be delighted to have you as volunteers.

Consider becoming a CVSHS member. Volunteer to have a part in creating a place where
heritage, culture, art, social, environmental and educational activities will be available to enrich
our community.
