1st CROFTON SCHOOL

Re Website - first Crofton School

Built 1905 at one room wooden building located at 1658 Roberts Street, Crofton.  The first teacher, Mr. Rhynois Offerhaus, died three months after the school opened.  Miss Olive Randle taught the remainder of that first school year.  The school closed in 1950.  The building was later moved to the eastern end of Joan Street where is now serves as the Crofton Schoolhouse Museum.
